What is it?
New York requires new LLCs to run an ad in two newspapers (1 daily + 1 weekly) for 6 consecutive weeks.
You must publish after your LLC is approved.
You'll get Affidavits of Publication from each newspaper.
You then file a Certificate of Publication with the state ($50 fee).
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on your LLC’s county.
Example:
Albany: $300–$400
NYC (Brooklyn, Manhattan): $800–$1,200+
Money-Saving Tip:
To lower costs, use a Registered Agent in a cheaper county like Albany. You can change your business address back later using a Certificate of Change ($30).
Every 2 years, file a Biennial Statement with the state:
Cost: $9
Filing Deadline: Within the calendar month your LLC was formed
