Since joining the University of Guyana as a lecturer in 2023, I have been committed to advancing excellence in teaching, research, and student mentorship. My doctoral research focuses on insect pollinators within Guyana’s mangrove ecosystems, contributing to a deeper understanding of coastal biodiversity and its conservation. As an active researcher, educator, and mentor, I have developed a growing portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and collaborative research initiatives. My teaching spans diverse areas of biology and marine biology, while my mentorship emphasizes rigorous research practices, scientific integrity, and critical thinking at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Beyond academia, I remain passionate about biodiversity conservation, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development, contributing to initiatives that promote the responsible management and appreciation of Guyana’s natural environment and its resources.
In addition to my role at the University of Guyana, I serve as a part-time lecturer at the Cyril Potter College of Education since 2024, where I contribute to the preparation and professional development of Guyana’s future educators. My responsibilities include teaching a range of Natural Science and pedagogy courses to teacher candidates, supervising research, and supporting teaching practicum experiences. Through these engagements, I am committed to strengthening science education and equipping future teachers with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies needed to inspire and educate the next generation.
I also serve as an Assistant Editor and Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Multi Research, published by Prahai Publication, where I contribute to the editorial review and scholarly publishing processes. In this capacity, I hold the academic designation of Assistant Professor. Further, I have completed several formal certification and professional development programs and courses through numerous accredited institutions and internationally recognized organizations. These certifications have strengthened my knowledge and practical competencies across diverse fields, including astronomy, zoology, ecology, healthcare, paleontology and business. Through continuous learning and professional development, I have expanded my multidisciplinary expertise and remain committed to applying evidence-based knowledge, innovative approaches, and best practices within my professional pursuits.
