Download, print worksheet.

Use the correct number of coloured counters to represent each atom - If you have no counters, you could draw a circle with a different coloured pens!

Count how many of each coloured counter/circle you have on each side of the arrow

Add Counters/circles to each side until the number on each side is the same

**Remember** Once atoms have bonded, you must add them as a whole compound ....

If you need another Na in "NaCl", you must add both Na AND Cl - Once bonded, they cannot be split up.

Once the equation is Balanced, write the number of atoms/compounds in the equation above the box.
