The History of LJMU AbsoluteChemistry

A brief history

LJMU Chemistry for All was set up in 2014 as a 5 year project part funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The project researched the effect of directed outreach activities on pupils aspirations and their progression to University. The project included many events over the 5 years based in 6 schools and at the University, giving them valuable experiences along with vital information about careers in Chemistry and the Science sector as a whole.

In 2018, LJMU AbsoluteChemistry was established to continue the legacy and great work of CfA. LJMU AbsoulteChemistry is a highly successful Outreach project funded by Shaping Futures, delivering quality outreach activities to learners aged 14-19 throughout the Liverpool city region. The project is focussed on widening participation and target ward learners aiming to increase pupils aspirations and their progression to University.
