Essential oils are made from highly concentrated plant substances and are popular in aromatherapy and alternative medicine, as well as home air fresheners. There are numerous types of essential oils, each with its own unique physical and chemical properties. There are also numerous companies that sell essential oils. I specifically use doterra and young living for all my oil needs.
There are three ways to use essential oils:
Aromatic – through smell by either putting drops on hands and smelling, holding a bottle to the nose and smelling or through a diffuser. This works on our “mood center” Hypothalamus and Pituitary.
Topical – applying the oil to the bottom of the feet and or other parts of the skin. It is important to note that some oils are hot and best applied diluted with a carrier oil else they will burn. Whatever is on your skin is in your blood system in just 60 seconds so please only use Pure Therapeutic Grade Oils like DoTerra.
Internal – through ingestion either direct, in food or water. Please note that only do this with oils that are safe to ingest, like DoTerra, many other oils say, “not for internal consumption”.
