Why did you join civically engaged Scholars?
When working with a community like the Deaf Community, it is important to understand that community and their culture. This understanding is pivotal because our culture impacts how we see the world and how we communicate. This program will help to further my connections within the Deaf Community and help me to better understand them and their culture.
Which Pathway are you excited to learn more about, and why?
I am most excited about the Community Organizing and Activism pathway. This pathway will help me to understand and take action when activism is needed in the Deaf Community. It will also help me understand what I can and should do in that situation.
