About

Liz Schilling, Bowdoin College B.A. '19

I'm a student at Bowdoin College graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Legal Studies and concentrating on International Relations. I am greatly drawn to the important relationship of data and humans, especially in international politics.

Over the course of my lifetime, China has drastically changed and in 2019, it seems to be an unstoppable economic force. Thus, during the spring semester of my senior year, I decided to embark on an interdisciplinary independent study of Chinese-American trade.

With the immense help of my advisor, Professor Crystal Hall, I put together a dataset, coded in R, and researched and wrote this analysis of the trade relationship between China and the United States from 1970-2018.
