I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University and a Research Affiliate at the Carlo F. Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy. I received my Ph.D. in Politics from New York University in 2017. I study the causes and the consequences of the use of violence and the threat of violence in politics, both at the international and the national political stage. More specifically, I am interested in deterrence theory, foreign intervention, and the politics of counterterrorism. I am also interested in the functioning of democratic institutions, especially elections.
