We meet every other Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. during the school year, beginning on September 11, 2025 and ending on April 30, 2026.
Our group is divided into three classrooms: Elementary, Pre-Elementary, and Nursery. The Nursery is available only for children who have a sibling enrolled in either the Elementary or Pre-Elementary classes.
The Elementary class consists of three sections which include two enrichment sections separated by a large motor/team-building section.
The Pre-Elementary class consists of four sections which include a foundational learning section (early phonics, basic math, etc.), a large motor section, an enrichment section, and free play.
The Nursery class includes a brief period of structured learning with songs, stories, and simple activities, as well as lots of free play.
All of our meetings end by gathering together as a large group for family worship and announcements.
Throughout the year, our leadership team plans a variety of special programs and events, including field trips, guest speakers, and gatherings just for moms. These activities are optional, open to families outside of the group, and may involve additional fees. A welcome e-mail will be sent out to all incoming families with instructions on how to find details and sign-ups for these events throughout the year.
This is not a drop off program, and a parent is required to stay and help during all programming and events. Upon registration, parent volunteers are placed on a team with the responsibility of working together to lead in a specific classroom. There is one point person from each team who is responsible for ensuring the classroom runs smoothly throughout the year (i.e. curriculum is being followed, teaching responsibilities are being shared, behavior guidelines are being upheld, etc.).
Several weeks before the start date, teams are given a curriculum to use for each enrichment session. Teams can decide how they want to work together to teach the lessons in a way that works best, but we expect the curriculum to be followed while still allowing for creative deviances as the teams see fit.
We expect full commitment with families making every effort to attend each week. However, we understand that things come up, and we ask members to exercise basic courtesy and common sense in regards to handling illnesses and absences. We do not monitor the health status of each other’s children, and we acknowledge the inherent health risks involved in group activities. If an absence is necessary, advanced notice is required, and arrangements are to be made within each team to ensure classrooms still run smoothly.
At all of our activities and events, the key value we ask everyone to practice is RESPECT. This means:
Respect all adults—including teachers, parents, and volunteers.
Respect all peers—be kind and considerate.
Respect the building we’re using—keep it clean and cared for.
We do not allow:
Foul or inappropriate language
Physical violence or rough behavior
Verbal abuse, teasing, or bullying
Damaging or defacing property
We’re a group of real people—kids and grown-ups alike—and none of us are perfect. When issues arise, we strive to lead with grace and mercy, not harsh judgment, in order to help each other grow in love. Verbal correction may be given by the classroom leaders to any child who is not following our group expectations. If disruptive behavior continues, the child’s parent will be called on to remove him or her from the classroom and address the situation. The child may return when he or she ready to participate in a respectful way.
There is no open food allowed in the church during meeting times, unless it is needed for an activity and gets pre-approval from leadership.
The leadership team reserves the right to amend these policies and procedures as necessary and will notify the group if and when changes are made. All questions can be brought to a leadership team member at any time.
