Liv Gains is a singer-songwriter/folk musician based in Cambridge, Ontario, known for her quirky yet intimate songwriting and well-traveled musical path. With a deep love for both music and travel, Liv has performed across North America—from Toronto to Vancouver, and San Francisco to New Orleans—building a career that comfortably spans street corners, intimate rooms, and festival stages alike.
She has opened for acclaimed artists including Feist, Basia Bulat, U.S. Girls, Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies), and Serena Ryder, and approaches each performance with the same openness and curiosity, whether playing to a passing crowd or a packed venue.
Raised in a musical family, Liv has been playing instruments since childhood. At fifteen, she bought her first ukulele with money earned busking with a friend, later adding guitar to her repertoire that same summer. As a teenager, she hitchhiked across Canada and parts of the western United States, busking along the way—an experience that continues to shape both her songwriting and her relationship to performance.
Over the last decade, Liv has performed extensively throughout North America, continuing to build a career rooted in travel, storytelling, and connection. Rooted in folk tradition but guided by lived experience, Liv Gains’ music reflects a life spent listening closely, traveling often, and telling stories wherever she lands.
