MU received 2 penalties for "pressing" the referee

The English Football Association (FA) has given two penalties to Man United after the players' overreaction in matches against Chelsea and Newcastle.

Man United received two fines after players of this team surrounded the referee to complain in matches against Chelsea and Newcastle. MU players surrounded referee Stuart Attwell in response to receiving a penalty at the end of the match against Chelsea. A similar incident happened when many MU players rushed to the referee to complain after Ronaldo's goal was denied.

MU players received a penalty for surrounding the referee

Manchester United were fined £45,000 for the Chelsea incident and £37,000 for the Newcastle game. Earlier, Ronaldo was also fined for smashing the phone of an Everton fan after the defeat at Goodison Park in the 2021/22 season.

An FA statement read: "Manchester United FC have been fined a total of £82,000 for breaching FA Rule E20.1 during the Premier League matches against Newcastle United on 16 October and against Chelsea on 22 October.

Manchester United admitted that they could not control the behavior of the players in the 49th minute of the Newcastle match and the 84th minute of the Chelsea match.

Man United will face Aston Villa in the third round of the Carabao Cup today. MU's last match before the World Cup break was against Fulham in the Premier League.

Currently, Man United is in 5th place in the Premier League. Ten Hag's army is 3 points behind Tottenham's 4th place but played 1 game less. However, the difference is at a negative level, making it difficult for Man United to compete with rivals in the top 4 race.
