About the Conference

We would like to cordially invite you to the 54th edition of the Conference on the Applications of Mathematics, traditionally held in Koscielisko near Zakopane. The aim of the conference is to present various applications of mathematics and to integrate the Polish community of applied mathematics. This edition is organized jointly with XXXI National Conference on Applications of Mathematics in Biology and Medicine.

From this year on, the whole conference is English-speaking.

The conference is organized jointly by the Math Application Center Mathematical Center for Science and Technology at Institute of Mathematics Polish Academy of Sciences (IMPAN) and the Dioscuri Center in Topological Data Analysis (Centrum Dioscuri w Topologicznej Analizie Danych).

Registration form

Registration is open until August 10,  2026.

Conference fee

The conference fee is 2,900 PLN for participants and 2,550 PLN for accompanying persons. The fee includes accommodation at the Rewita Zakopane Kościelisko resort from Sunday to Saturday (6 nights), full board (dinner on Sunday; breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Friday; breakfast and an early lunch on Saturday), coffee breaks, and conference materials. Wednesday’s dinner will take the form of a bonfire, and Thursday’s will be a formal conference dinner. The fee for accompanying persons does not include coffee breaks or conference materials.

The payment deadline is August 10, 2026. All the fees, including ones for the accompanying persons, should be paid via bank transfer to the account indicated above. 

Abstracts

Abstracts should be sent by August 22, 2026 to zakopane@impan.pl using the attached template. 

Please send both TEX and PDF files.

Competition for young mathematicians for the best presentation 

In accordance with the custom dating back to the 30th Conference, an award will be funded for young mathematicians (up to 32 years old) for the best presentation given at the conference. The condition for participation in the competition is to send, in addition to the abstract of the talk, a wider version of the work (e.g. a preprint or a copy of the published article). Competition Regulations (impan.pl).

Practical information

The conference will be held at the Rewita Center Zakopane Kościelisko https://www.rewita.pl/en/home-en/, 103 Nędzy Kubinca st., 34-511 Koscielisko. It begins with dinner on Sunday, September 13 and ends with early lunch on Saturday, September 19.
