I am a Maître de Conférences (≈ Associate Professor) at Institut de Mathématiques de Bourgogne (team SPOC) in Université Bourgogne Europe , since September 2024.
From January to August 2024, I was a post-doctoral researcher at Chair for Dynamics, Control, Machine Learning and Numerics–Alexander von Humboldt Professorship in FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, directed by Enrique Zuazua.
In October 2023, I received my PhD degree in applied mathematics from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, under the supervision of Laurent Pfeiffer and J. Frédéric Bonnans from the DISCO group of Inria Saclay. Here is my thesis. My permanent email address is: kang.liu@polytechnique.org.
My research focuses on the following topics:
Large scale non-convex optimization and mean field optimization;
Mean field games and numerical methods;
Optimal control and machine learning.
2020-2023: PhD in EDMH at Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Paris Saclay University.
2019-2020: Master 2 of Modelisation at Sorbonne University (with the highest honor).
2016-2019: Engineer's degree at Ecole Polytechnique.
2012-2016: Bachelor's degree of Mathematics at Nanjing University.
2024: Post-doctoral researcher (8 months) @ FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
2021-2023: Teaching assistant (2 years) @ Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
2020: Internship of M2 (6 months) @ R&D EDF, subject: Approximate Nash Equilibria in Large Nonconvex Aggregative Games.
2019: Internship of M1 (4 months) @ R&D TotalEnergies, subject: Data-driven methods for Uncertainty Quantification analysis.
