All required paperwork and fees are due before you child is considered for enrollment. The documents required must be completed and returned prior to the child(ren) being dropped off for their first day.
All potential families are required to have at least one interview prior to being accepted into the program.
It is always wise to bring your child for a visit after our initial interview; I would not recommend bringing your child to the initial interview but understand if your child must attend. I recommend a second interview date, typically I schedule these during our preschool time, 9am-10am. This will give your child a chance to become familiar with our home, meet me, the other daily staff and the other children. This would be a great time to bring items that will be left here for him/her.
If this is your child’s first time in child care or your child is uneasy about being in someone else’s care; I recommend that you visit several times before your start date, at least once when there are no children here, so your child has the opportunity to become comfortable without all the hustle and bustle of the other children. As well as at least one more time with the children present, I recommend at least a 2 hour visit around lunch time.
During our interview, be prepared to go through our Parent Handbook cover to cover, see the home, interact with the Provider, have questions answered and asked and learn about our program and philosophy's around child development. Typically, interviews are conducted after all child care children have been picked up for the day, usually between 5:30pm and 5:45pm for a start time. They typically last 45 minutes to an hour and half depending on questions asked and answered. You will be provided with many documents, most are for you to read and your knowledge. Some will need to be filled out and returned, these are required by Child Care Licensing Division, prior to Enrollment.
