Installing a fence is a serious commitment to improving your property that requires both a time and financial consideration. Before you move forward with having a new fence installed, there are some important factors that you should consider.
KNOW YOUR PROPERTY BOUNDARIES:
Make sure that you have a clear understanding of your property boundaries.
If the fence is going to be located on the boundary lines of your property, then you need to be absolutely certain that you are clear on the exact boundaries. Having a survey of your property line is one of the best ways to be sure of this. In general, you should have received a copy of your plat plan in your closing documents when you closed on the property with the bank. If not, the bank may be a good resource for finding a plat of record.
KNOW THE LOCAL CODES & REGULATIONS:
Zoning ordinances and regulations can vary by Jurisdiction as well as your Community Architectural Requirements and affect the location, size and material of the fence you are allowed to install. Check with your neighborhood association, city or county government. In most cases, "LITTLE RIVER" Fence & Landscaping Company will know these regulations and can help you understand these requirements and work within them to create a solution that works best for you.
If you live in a subdivision with a Homeowners Association, please check their guidelines on fence installation. Many allow only certain types and heights of fences to be installed. Usually an approval letter is issued from the "HOA" giving permission for the fence installation.
Check with your local jurisdiction to find out if a permit is necessary to have a fence installed. In most cases, we will obtain the permit for the fence installation when required.
INFORM YOUR NEIGHBOR:
Talk to your neighbors about your new fence plans. Neighbors will generally be fine with your plans of installing a fence. But consider, a new fence can cause tension between neighbors when it comes as a surprise.
