About Me

Hi! My name is Hannah Christenson. I’m so excited to welcome your family to my licensed, in-home child care program! Caring for children has always been a joy for me. I grew up working with children in a variety of areas such as nannying, lifeguarding, coaching and eventually teaching in public education. I have my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education, and I am a licensed K-12 Vocal Music Education and K-5 Elementary Classroom teacher in the state of Minnesota. Recently, I’ve decided to take my educational career in a different direction to provide care for families who require more flexible care options, and also to better suit my own familial needs. My husband and I have four young children, and as a teacher myself, I know first hand how hard it can be to risk losing a daycare spot over the summer while you’re on break. A one-size-fits-all model doesn’t apply to families, so Little Pioneers Playschool will offer your family a flexible, logical school year schedule with options for occasional summer care and stability with your precious summer time. It is my goal to provide a developmentally-appropriate and enriching day program while you are at work. I’m not exclusive to teacher families at this time, however I will be following the ISD709 Duluth School District calendar and offer part time care during the summer.
