Welcome to Skirwith's Little Bus Stop Library - a free, shared space to borrow, swap, discover and enjoy books.
Reading is for everyone
A little place where you can always find a quiet pleasure - whilst you wait, to take home, or to pass along.
Supporting local charity shops
All our books are bought from local charity shops, or when our shelves are full - titles are donated back to charities, keeping the cycle going.
Giving back through literacy
Any surplus cash donations collected throughout the year are gifted to a book charity at Christmas, helping spread the joy of reading even further.
Borrow a book to read. If it's to good to give back - keep it safe!
If you've swapped or returned a book, leave it in the designated returns cupboard so that we can catalogue it.
If you don't have a book to swap today, consider leaving a small donation so that we can continue to keep the shelves interesting with new titles.
Once a month, usually the last Sunday, we update the virtual library catalogue which you can browse online.
Simple ways we ensure everyone enjoys the Little Bus Stop Library:
Yes please to gently used novels, children's books and quality reads in good condition.
No thank you to damaged/torn books, old magazines, textbooks, dictionaries or dvds.
If the donation cupboard is full, please don't leave the books on the floor. Take them to a local charity instead or contact the librarians to arrange a drop off.
You can also request a title or genres through the form. As much as we love the joy of going book shopping (and we do!) this helps us know what sort of books our community would like to read, and makes finding titles we know you'll enjoy at the charity shops a whole lot easier.
This library runs on trust, kindness, and shared care. Please help keep it welcoming for the next reader.
