Eucharist: God's Love as Abiding Presence

Knowing that the hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father, in the course of a meal he washed their feet and gave them the commandment of love. In order to leave them a pledge of this love, in order never to depart from his own and make them sharers in his Passover, he instituted the Eucharist as the memorial of his death and resurrection, and commanded his apostles to celebrate it until his return...." **As we end the Life in the Eucharist program, we will recognize the gift of our hands: hands raised in prayer and praise to God, the author of life and the giver of every blessing; hands open to receiving Christ's body and blood in Holy Communion that we might be Christ to the world around us; hands blessed by the Spirit to serve the needs of our brothers and sister.

**An anointing of the hands will be offered at this session, which will extend the end time to 8:30pm.
