I am best known for my collection of bears of Katmai National Park in Alaska. I was enchanted by their social interactions as they fattened up during a salmon run! It was a stark contrast to the salmon trawlers I also saw in the sound. Both needed the salmon to survive. Both were so connected.
I am a founding member of the Wildlife Collective, and am very active in supporting conservation and other charities with my work. In April I'm donating to @WCKitchen to feed refugees for every sale not already allocated to another charity. Please check out my collections.

I spent most of my life as a US Marine officer, but now that I've retired, I'm a full-time creative - writing, taking pictures, and working with digital media and AI. Originally from the US, I now live mainly in Australia, but spend about 4-6 months per year traveling around the world - the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
My big focus is collaboration and helping others - I write a weekly'ish newsletter for people interested in books and the blockchain, have founded a Web3 poetry journal that shares profits equally with all contributors, and have done collaborations with two cover artists in 2022 (and hoping to do more in 2023) - all my cover collabs have been a 50/50 profit share - I believe in equity in the arts! I also focus on normalizing the ideas of giving back to collectors and the community - so many of my NFTs have charity donations and collector rewards built in.
I also believe that $LIT is one of the best places for artists, and am hoping to make it even better by building out a DAO that will better enable the community to support artists.

I am a wildlife and landscape photographer living in Honolulu, Hawaii. For almost twenty years, I have explored my island home to document amazing wildlife, scenic landscapes, volcanic eruptions, and powerful waves.
I feel like I’ve had a camera in my hand my whole life, from my mother’s hand-me-down Minolta 110 when I was 5 or 6 to an Advantix camera as a graduation gift. I purchased my first 35mm from Samy’s Camera when I lived in L.A. and my first DSLR in 2009 in Hawaii.
The last ten years have allowed me to share my work in galleries across the islands, being recognized by international publications, and now my journey into NFTs.
I volunteer with several non-profits focused on education, conservation, and outreach for Hawaii’s endangered wildlife only found in the Hawaiian islands. Part of the proceeds of my NFT sales will continue to support those non-profits to ensure that these species are around for future generations to experience for themselves.

"Maria Fynsk Norup is a self taught visual artist and photographer, based on the Danish island of Ærø. She’s formally educated in the field of botany from the Natural History Museum of Denmark and The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, London. Her love for the natural world inevitably appears in the visual storytelling of her works.
Maria primarily uses self-portraits as the medium for storytelling in her work, currently creating imagery that revolves around exploring femininity, and the human-nature interconnection. Her inspiration often draws directly from dreams and emotions, including her own background as a survivor of sexual assault and depression, her work can therefore vibrate with a dark undertone.
Influenced by the use of light, form and shadow, immortalised by painters like Caravaggio, Titian and the Danish Vilhelm Hammershøi, she works to tell her stories from a female point of view. Using herself (and occasionally her daughters) as a model, she creates stories grounded in our environment – stories about vulnerability, raw emotions, our connection to nature, and our place in the world.

I came to LIT just after the first project drop, was hacked for about $16k in LIT, (shortly after that hack, LIT mooned and it would have been $50k) in LIT, and had a grand old time with some community members solving puzzles created by Rata and being part of the first and second Medici rides.
My current work combines AI and digital art into a digital collage. A kind of crossroads between process, technology and art. As both a Software Engineer and Fine Artist, AI and blockchain provide modes of working generatively and transactionally that fits my life style. Furthermore, these explorations inform my physical work in painting, sculpture and decorative (street art) which will take a more extensive time commitment, and so a queue of ideas has pile up for consideration to be made into physical form. The work melds historic art, including decorative, sculptural, and contemporary painting with trans-human science fiction concepts. The question: "What happens when only AI bots exist to make with the sole purpose of making art work in the world, but with no human value system. The work is purposefully "re"generative both for metaphor and process. This recycling process bringing visual ideas of my past, my children, and visual ideas of others (via AI) into a continued generative output acts as event stream of ideas, with only the best concepts filtering and curated for sharing and gift-giving. Once work has been output, the transactional lifecycle will eventually be determined. This portion of my work is just as important as the work itself. How others come to possess, experience, or receive my work is absolutely critical as I want to break the glaciers of traditional art markets, and more importantly, consumerist patterns or economics. There is a spiritual element to the transactional approach that will emerge as a pattern of gift-giving. Just as we exist in a created world, filled with the creations of others, or in a world created by a creator sovereign (as some may believe), we share too and benefit in these life-cycles of meaning.

The piece I chose to share is titled "Between the devil and the deep blue sea". This piece represents truly difficult choices or a trapped and tortured mind dreaming of possibilities but only seeing them through a lens or stuck in thought. The ocean waves are like powerful thoughts and images inside this abstract mind. Not getting to express yourself but capturing the beauty of the dreams within.
This community of this space and all that it means came as quite a surprise to me. That I am truly grateful for. I wouldnt be here without a great group of people that supported me here.
