The list song is a frequent element of 20th-century popular music and became a Broadway staple.[19] Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Nol Coward, and Stephen Sondheim are composers and lyricists who have used the form.[20][21] The very first commercial recording of a Cole Porter tune was his list song "I've a Shooting Box in Scotland" originally from See America First (1913).[22][23] Berlin followed soon after with the list song "When I Discovered You" from his first complete Broadway score Watch Your Step (1914).[24]

Irving Berlin would likewise often write songs in the genre; notable examples include "My Beautiful Rhinestone Girl" from Face the Music (1932), a list song that starts off with a sequence of negative similes,[33] "Outside of That I Love You" from Louisiana Purchase,[34] and "Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)" a challenge-duet, and Berlin's starkest antithesis-driven list song,[35] "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun",[36] and "Doin' What Comes Natur'lly",[37] all three from the 1946 musical Annie Get Your Gun.

You can do it with the favorite (and most recommened) utility here, MP3Tag. Open up your entire Music folder in it and then go to File > Export. You can select the format of list (and configuration) you want and print it out.

Hey @SAcz,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

This sounds odd indeed. Does this happen for all albums you've tried to open or for one particular only? If it's later, then please us a link to it, so we can take a closer look.

If this is happening for all content in general, then it's also worthwhile restarting the app twice in a row. This may sound odd but it's how it makes a refresh. See if this will make any difference.

As a last resort we can offer you to try a clean reinstall of the app, as this is more thorough than the normal one and ensures that no cached data will cause interference with the new installation of your app. Note that you'd need to download your content for offline listening again, as the clean reinstall removes all downloads from the device.

Hope something here helps and does the trick for you. Reach out if you need more help.

since updating iTunes it seems that my library is full of album artwork, I wish to see songs, albums or playlist tunes in a simple list view as the artwork icons just get in the way of reviewing, I have a reasonable sized library but its not massive, it takes 3 times longer to navigate now.

Same thing. Scrolling and searching takes too long, not only because of the Artwork, most of which iTunes can't seem to find, but with all the songs in EACH album displayed. How can that SONG list be hidden so I only see the name of the Album, and not see the artwork? I see no such menu as suggested by the previous responder. OS10.11.6, iTunes 12.7.1.14. The "Playlist" menu is what I am looking for, but for Albums. Or do I have to convert every album into a Playlist? If I compress the window to the left, the album graphic is small and not the problem but the Album title is in a huge font, and I am still stuck with the complete song list. I should be able to hide the song list untilI find an album that I can then click on and GET the song list. Does not seem so hard.

At this point, I have a bunch of songs on my iPhone and I'd like to re-create the library automatically. I already have code that uses the iTunes.Application com object to interact with iTunes on Windows, so that's covered.

However, I need to be able to fetch the list of the songs I have on the iPhone and so far I've been unable to find a way to retrieve it (since we're talking about a few thousands of songs, I don't want to do it by hand).

I have a background music running on my game. I have a list of multiple songs and I want them to just constantly be played in a random order(that is why I imported choice on there) but it only runs once on the user-defined function that I have called play. When I put loops =-1 it only runs the random song that is chosen over and over again. I want it to change songs without having to manually change it(not needing to use a button or something to change songs). How do I do that?

For now, you can access stations designed to introduce you to new music through the artists and songs that you know and love. You can type in your favorite artist or song and Pandora will do the rest. Music that is similar to your musical tastes will play in your station.

When listening to stations, you are able to rate music by giving it a Thumbs Up (meaning you like it and want more music like that on your station) or Thumbs Down (meaning you don't like it, or don't want music like that on this particular station). When you give a song a Thumbs Down, that song will never play again on that station.

I have an iPhone 13 and am having the same issue as LoverOfMusic. My friends' thumb lists either show that they zero thumbed songs or it shows the number of thumbed songs, but doesn't list the songs when I click on the list.

Here is our (almost) complete list of songs and artists from our SUF video workouts. The left column is the song title and the right column is the artist. There are a few videos that are a bit hard...

Not quite the same thing as a Patter Song (though they can overlap). A patter song is a song which spits out a lot of words in very little time. Lots of sixteenth notes, a moderate-to-fast tempo, and more often than not, a very limited melody. The test of patter-songitute lies in the music. An example of a patter song that isn't a list song would be "The Worst Pies in London" from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, or "Trouble" from The Music Man, or "I've Just Seen a Face" by The Beatles.

A list song is made so by the lyrics. List songs that aren't patter songs include "I'm Still Here" from Follies, and "It Might as Well Be Spring," from State Fair. Admittedly, most list songs are going to be patter songs, but they aren't interchangeable terms.

The difficulty of memorizing the lyrics of List Songs is evident when actors in live performances sometimes forget what they're supposed to be singing. It's also very easy for fans to add whole verses of unofficial lyrics to list songs; in many cases, far more lines were written by the original lyricists than could ever have been used.

Audio Play  36 Questions: One Thing slowly becomes a list song as the number of things that need to be repaired increases. We Both has Judith listing similarities between herself and her alter-ego Natalie, followed by Judith listing things she and her husband have in common.

Comedy  Australian comic duo The Scary Little Weird Guys did a couple. One was about the (highly venomous) wildlife of Australia, and the other was (supposedly) every name in the telephone book. One Brazilian radio station does an almost-daily parody of "Because I Got High" in which the lyrics are the streets on which the traffic will get jammed that day. And they change the names every time! German comedian Otto Waalkes has Wir haben Grund zum Feiern (we have reason to celebrate), which consists of a list of alcoholic drinks to the melody of Billy Joel's 'We Didn't Start the Fire'. "Weird Al" Yankovic: "CNR" is a list of Chuck Norris-esque Memetic Badass abilities and accomplishments of late actor Charles Nelson Reilly. "Tacky" is a list of tacky behaviours and fashion choices the narrator displays. "My Own Eyes" is a list of all the bizarre things the narrator wishes he could unsee. "Hardware Store" combines this with Patter Song when Al rapidly lists a lot of things he can get at the hardware store. Adam Sandler's "Chanukah Song" lists celebrities with both real and fictional connections to Judaism, which is often updated with new lyrics. "The Philosopher's Song" from The Monty Python Matching Tie and Handkerchief is a List Song about various philosophers and their drinking habits. "There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya 'bout the raising of the wrist... Socrates himself was permanently pissed..." 0852c4b9a8
