A toolbox of resources to support work to dismantle white supremacy within LIS and related fields.
Anyone with white privilege, either white or white-passing, in the larger fields of libraries, archives, museums, and information management.
From Layla F. Saad's website:
Initially offered for free following an Instagram challenge under the same name, the best-selling digital Me And White Supremacy Workbook was downloaded by close to ninety thousand people around the world in the space of six months, before becoming a traditionally published book.
Me and White Supremacy has been used by many groups, including in a spontaneous, viral challenge in the online knitting community. Suddenly race and racism were at the forefront of knitting Facebook groups, Instagram accounts, and Ravelry. Me And White Supremacy has proven accessible to a wide range of knitters, demographics which are echoed in LIS.
We hope this viral response, which necessitated confrontation of racism and white supremacy among crafters and knitters, can be replicated within the online LIS community.
