Welcome!

This page is a model Liquid Syllabus. It provides an example of what you will create during this self-paced training. The goal is to build an engaging, humanizing, mobile-friendly website that warmly welcomes your students to the course. As a public website, a Liquid Syllabus lives outside of Canvas allowing students to explore essential course details before they even log in.

Our training makes use of the wonderful resources shared by Michelle-Pacansky Brock. Most recently she has been working with STEM faculty to humanize their online courses.

About the Tech

In Part 2 of the training you'll set up a new Google Site and become familiar with the basic template elements available. You'll also be introduced to Canvas Studio.

Create your Masterpiece

In Part 3 of the training you'll put all the pieces together to transform your traditional welcome for students into a stunning Liquid Syllabus.

Register on the flex website.
Create a Google account if you don't have one yet. (While other website building apps exist and are easy to use, this training will focus on one platform)
After receiving the getting-started email following flex registration, access the course in Canvas to begin the training modules.
Work at your own pace to build your Liquid Syllabus and complete associated training requirements before the course close date.
