My Teaching Philosophy
My goal is to create an atmosphere of reliance and cooperation in the classroom. So that every student feels they are a member of the learning community. Where students feel free to express themselves and diversity is not only accepted but thrives. My objective is to help my students build knowledge by providing thoughtful lessons that inspire them to work hard and internalize what they have learned.
A climate of trust will allow our learning community to succeed in accomplishing our learning target. Together, we will work to support each other: teacher supporting students and students supporting students.
My Advice for Success
My advice for success is to plan ahead as far as possible. This will help eliminate surprises that can lead to stress. My cat, Albert, doesn't plan ahead and he gets into trouble with my other cat, Winston. Winston always plans ahead. He is rarely surprised and leads a stress free life.
My cat Albert. Does not like to plan ahead.
Sir Winston. Likes to plan ahead.
My last advice for success is to not be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are something that you can learn from. And making a mistake can lead to insights that you didn't expect. I made many mistakes when I was a student and I continue to make them. It is a part of life that allows us to grow as individuals.
