Dr. Li is an assistant professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET), Kennesaw State University, where she also serves as the director of Robust Analytics & System Simulation (RASS) lab. Before joining KSU in 2017, she worked in the industry for six years in companies such as IBM Research Center and Sabre Corporation.
Dr. Li has extensive training and experience, both academically and professionally, in decision analysis using quantitative models and statistical analysis. Her current research focuses on utilizing machine-learning methods from data science, algorithmic & simulation techniques from decision science, as well as theories from social sciences to study both strategic and operational level system decisions with applications in supply chain management, logistics, and healthcare analytics. Her professional work experience is closely related to applying statistical methods and simulations to study demand modeling in the travel industry. She has worked on several projects developing predictive models using large airline datasets and consumer retail datasets to facilitate decision-support applications. Dr. Li is a member of the Institute of Operations Research and the Management Science (INFORMS), the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and Decision Science Institute (DSI).
