Membership Due
Compared to other programs of language improvement and skill building, investment in Toastmasters learning is the most effective, and the fee is way lower. The membership due is to be paid to Toastmasters International Headquarters to maintain a member's active status. The official time to collect the membership due from Toastmasters International falls in September and March. However, we collect once a year as soon as you decide to join the club. We will remind each member to renew their membership when the membership payment is due within 2 months. Please talk to the incumbent treasurer, Vera Ho to pay for your membership due in time.
The Annual Membership Due + fees for each member of Linkou Toastmasters Club is NT$4,200/year;
New Member Registration is NT$800 (one-time payment).
When you join the Linkou Toastmasters Club for the very first time, the total membership fee is NT$5,000 for the first year.

2024 Changes to Pathways
(First Half of 2024)
Base Camp, the online system where Pathways is accessed, is moving to a new learning management system (LMS) early next year. This will lay the foundation for many exciting improvements to the Pathways learning experience, including easier platform navigation, more frequent content updates, and a future mobile application. We can now share more changes coming with the new LMS next year.
A New Learning Management System is Coming-(LMS)
Over the past few years, we have worked with our current Learning Management System (LMS) provider to make enhancements wherever possible. However, we have ultimately determined that the best way to address the greatest challenges faced by members is to engage with a new LMS provider.
When? In the first half of 2024.
What benefits will the new version of Base Camp provide for members?
The improved system will allow for many improvements and enhancements, including:
Easier time navigating the system, launching your path, and working through projects.
When your completed path or level is approved, it will automatically be submitted for recognition in Club Central.
You will be able to access Pathways on your mobile device, with a mobile app to follow in the future.
Pathways will be friendly and accessible to our members who are Visually Impaired.
You will be able to share your educational accomplishments directly to social media from Pathways.
When the new Base Camp system (LMS) launches, the Pathways product offering will be revised to include six of the currently available paths. And dropping five of the existing paths.
Paths Being Retained
1. Dynamic Leadership
2. Engaging Humor
3. Motivational Strategies
4. Presentation Mastery
5. Persuasive Influence
6. Visionary Communication
Paths Being Dropped
1. Effective Coaching
2. Innovative Planning
3. Leadership Development
4. Strategic Relationships
5. Team Collaboration
So. if you want any of the paths that are being dropped, you must order them prior to the rollout of the new system launch.
What are Explorations?
Following the new LMS launch in 2024, two Explorations will be released, each comprised of three projects. These explorations will include new projects and focus on the topics of Inclusive Leadership and Presenting Yourself Online. As leaders in a global organization, it is critical that we understand how to be inclusive of all people. Projects in the exploration focused on inclusive leadership will help members recognize and address unconscious bias, build cultural intelligence, and learn how to nurture supportive relationships.
Since 2020 and the start of the pandemic, members and prospective members have been requesting content that will help them present themselves well in the digital age. The projects in the exploration focused on presenting yourself online will help members learn how to look and sound their best online, manage meetings in the digital space, and conduct hybrid meetings. Will there be DCP credit for completing Explorations? A plan for individual credentials and DCP credit for work in explorations is still in development. A system will be put in place to ensure that members and clubs are recognized for work completed in these explorations. More information will be made available in advance of the exploration launch.

After you join the Linkou Toastmasters Club for the first time as an official member, you will start your educational programs. An official new member will receive the New Member Kit. It encourages you to start accessing the Pathways system through the Base Camp. You will start by completing an assessment or survey to explore your true interest in learning with Toastmasters, and then the online system will suggest a few paths that closely fit your interests. Choose one path and start your pathway learning!
Every path consists of five levels, each containing various projects that focus on specific skills. You will begin each path with an Icebreaker project before moving on to other engaging projects. The projects in the first two levels are very similar in all Paths, as they aim to establish a solid foundation in communication, presentation skills, and self-leadership exploration. Starting from Level 3 to Level 5, there is one required project along with several elective projects at each level. You are not required to complete all elective projects; instead, you can select the ones that interest you the most and align with your development goals.
Regardless of the level you are working on, every project will involve the following steps: studying the online learning materials through Pathways Base Camp, completing an assessment of your abilities or competencies, conducting the project during meetings, receiving an evaluation from your evaluator, and finally, reviewing your progress in the Base Camp after finishing the project assignment.
The Pathways system provides abundant learning materials and clear guidance for you to follow when you are going to perform certain tasks. There are also evaluation forms for your evaluator to mark their evaluation of your performance and provide feedback for you. Also, you can utilize it to keep a good record of your progress for your future Educational Award record when you complete any level or path. Therefore, when you attend any meeting, study the learning materials in advance. If you are a prepared speech speaker, be sure to bring the evaluation form and present it to your evaluator before the meeting starts; so the evaluator can leave written feedback for you. That will ensure you collect the written notes and suggestions from the evaluator in addition to the verbal ones. This is an ongoing process during your whole Toastmasters journey for your continuous improvement. Let's grow together in Pathways with Linkou Toastmasters Club!! ^ ^
