This privacy policy explains how LinkNook operates regarding your data.
The short version: Your saved links and database are 100% local and private. We do not see them. However, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements, which collects specific device information to serve those ads.
The core functionality of LinkNook is completely local. When you use the Android "Share" feature to send text or URLs to LinkNook, the app processes that text strictly on your device.
Your Links: All saved links, timestamps, and categories are stored in a local SQLite database directly on your device hardware.
No Cloud Syncing: We do not have access to your database, your saved links, or your search history. Your vault data is never transmitted to any external server by us.
To support the development of LinkNook, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the app. AdMob is a third-party service provided by Google LLC.
What AdMob Collects: To serve ads, AdMob may collect and process information such as your IP address, device identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID), device type, and interaction data with the ads.
Personalized Ads: Depending on your location and device settings, AdMob may use this data to serve personalized advertisements.
Google's Privacy Policy: The data collected by AdMob is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can read more about how Google uses data from its ad services here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
To function and display advertisements, LinkNook requires the following device permissions:
Internet & Network State: Required exclusively to load and display advertisements via the Google AdMob network.
Advertising ID: Required by Google AdMob for analytics and ad targeting.
Zero Invasive Permissions: We do not request access to your Camera, Microphone, Contacts, Location, or Storage (beyond the app's isolated local sandbox).
You have control over the advertising data collected by your device.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by going to your Android device settings: Settings > Privacy > Ads, and selecting "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or "Delete advertising ID."
Your Vault Data: Because your saved links are stored exclusively on your device, you have total control over them. You can permanently delete all your data at any time using the "Nuke Everything" button in the app's Settings menu. Uninstalling LinkNook will also permanently delete this local database.
Ad Data: Data collected by Google AdMob is retained and managed according to Google’s privacy and retention policies.
