Raehyun founded Link n Learn in 2017, following her passion to create a second home for international families, a place where they can connect, learn, and feel part of an international community.
A South Korea native, Raehyun studied communications on three different continents (Africa, Europe and Australia) before taking a break from school to try her hand at learning German in Frankfurt. While her German suffered thanks to the international nature of the city, thankfully she met the love of her life.
After marrying her Korean-German husband, she chose to settle in Frankfurt in the wet, dark month of November. Despite her outgoing personality, it was a lonely beginning.
With time, she built her own circle of friends and a supportive community. Through that journey, she realized one simple truth: it is not about where you live, but who you are surrounded by.
Professionally, she interned at the international firm Star Alliance, working alongside colleagues from 18 different nations. She also earned recognition as a public speaker and took on leadership roles at the international public-speaking club Toastmasters.
As a saleswoman, she built the German client base for CareerBuilder, the number one American career site, from the ground up. She later joined The Economist Group as an online and digital sales executive, responsible for Northern Europe.
Perhaps her biggest challenge? Becoming a mother, an experience that turned her life upside down in all the best ways. She stayed active, taking courses and meeting other moms, often with a baby in tow. It created a sense of community during an otherwise lonely time, especially with her family living overseas.
Relocating often raises difficult questions: How do you build a new life? How do you make new friends? Where will your children feel comfortable and safe?
Raehyun’s passion grew from her desire to create a second home for international families like her own. At the same time, she wanted to create a safe space where her daughter and other children could explore creativity, find their voice, and grow in confidence.
She channeled her love for people, her international experience, and her commitment to children into creating Link n Learn, a place where families feel supported, connected, and inspired.
