Download Windows Migration Assistant For Macos Mojave: A Simple and Fast Solution for Data Transfer

Just received a new Mac book and I am trying to use the Windows migration assistant on old PC and it will not even open. I have turned off Virus protection and auto windows updates. I have also ran the software update on the new MAC.

Figured it out .. when using migration assistant transfering data from macbook air to new macbook pro (both running 10.14.4 ) there was a currupt file within the transfer .... so with a fresh install of the os on the new mac all is running fine

I am updating my incoming Mac Book Pro 16"pro from a very tired 7 year old Mac Book Pro running an older OS Catalina. I decided to do a clean install and not use the migration assistant and just download all the files directly from Adobe, Capture, Microsoft. I am lucky that I have few actual files living on the laptop so I want to start with a totally new system.

Like start from scratch as a new user and move files over? I haven't done a completely clean OS install like that in a decade.. Because I got burned bad when I did. So many permissions broke, keychain, icloud. It was a disaster. So when its time for a new computer or OS, I begrudgingly use migration assistant.

These multiple runs of migration assistant seemed to work. I suspect the migration assistant was miscalculating the disk storage so it was trying to write more to the MacBook 256gb drive than it could store even though I had unchecked things and got it to a size migration assistant said would work.
