Conference Theme: Challenges and Opportunities for Linguistics Faculty at Public Universities without Linguistics Departments

Meeting Description:
The meeting will consist of 20 minutes presentations on two specific topics:
Topic A: Strategies for developing linguistics programs at public universities without linguistics departments. We invite abstracts on success stories or effective strategies related to any and all aspects of program development and growth in this type of institutional context.
Topic B: Strategies for facilitating the professional growth of faculty at public universities without linguistics departments. We invite abstracts on tips and advice on building fulfilling careers, robust research programs, and/or rewarding professional networks with colleagues, students, and the community in this type of institutional context.
Each presentation will be around 20 minutes long and will be followed by 10 minutes Q&A.

Please include the following information in your one-page abstract:
(i) the context of implementation (home department, college, university, and/or community),
(ii) a summary of the strategies or success story you will be presenting, with evidence of the extent of their/its impact, and
(iii) a brief discussion of the transferability of the strategies or success story to other contexts.
