Bette Midler blamed Lindsay Lohan for SitCom "Bette" being a failure

Bette Midler produced a sitcom in 2000, which featured Lindsay Lohan in its cast. Following the pilot episode, Lohan left the show because of the fact that they moved the recording location of the project from New York to Los Angeles, and since she wanted to continue studying and have a school life, she decided to leave the sitcom. However, for Bette Midler (known for her role in Hocus Pocus), this departure was significant, as she described it as "A big, big, big mistake."

In a recent interview, Bette Midler shared her thoughts on Lindsay Lohan and their former show "Bette," expressing some dissatisfaction.

"I didn’t know those things could happen. For instance, Lindsay Lohan was cast as my daughter in the pilot, well, after the pilot, Lindsay Lohan decided she didn’t want to do it. Or she had other fish to fry. So Lindsay Lohan left the building. and I said, well, now what do you do?" Midler said

However, what Bette said that made blew up internet was: “I know and if I had been in my right mind or if I had known that part of my duties was to stand up and say, ‘This absolutely will not do, I’m gonna sue,’ then I would have done that” she added.

In another interview, Midler disclosed, "Of course the next day I was fired, My lawyer called me, like nine o’clock in the morning and said, ‘You’re fired.’ I said, ‘Oh isn’t that fantastic!’ I mean, we were on the 18th episode out of 22 and I was so thrilled to not have to continue."
