The woodie, the most California of cars

Lindsayland's recently acquired a 1949 Mercury station wagon, which will be the theme vehicle for the Lazy X Ranch. It has no engine or transmission, so it'll be converted to electric power based on a Lincoln Electric (brand) industrial motor which was here among the other junk. It's an Illinois car, so it's very rusty. Its original color was the same maroon as is illustrated in Mercury's sales brochure. Note that it "Meets safety codes for school and institutional use."
