Here are some of my Educational Support assignments that I have recreated with UDL in mind.
Using Canva, I created this infographic to recreate my Technology Exploration assignment from this course. Instead of a multi-page PowerPoint presentation, I have laid out all of the information using simple language and appropriate images. With a quick glance, the user receives all necessary information without the need to scroll through multiple slides on PowerPoint. With the same ideas in mind, I also created a comic illustrating the instructions in a fun way using Pixton. Comics are visually appealing and a fun way to absorb information.
Using Piktochart, I recreated My Self Care Plan, which was an assignment from the Foundations of Education course. My original assignment was a simple table in Microsoft Word. By creating an infographic, I have presented a lot of the same information in an eye-catching way.
The colours, graphics, and numbered items on the infograph are more inviting to the reader than simple text. I have chunked the information so that it is easy to absorb and less intimidating that a wall of text.
Below is a YouTube video presentation on The Infant Hearing Program that I completed for the Physical Exceptionalities course. I have added subtitles so that the video is accessible to the Deaf community.
For my Maze assignment in the Assessment in Education course, my task was to examine a Maze reading passage and point out the errors. In order to express my knowledge using UDL, I created a Quizlet study set. Each question features a sentence with an option to choose a missing word from three choices. Only one word fits the sentence correctly, while the other two are distractors. You can click here to take a look at the study set.
Using Visme, I created this graph to represent the stages of burnout for my assignment in the Foundations of Education course.
The original assignment was completed in a black and white Microsoft Word template, which was not very visually inviting. The colours on the scale on this graph are easy to read and compare to the meter. The information is a lot more accessible on this graph than the original block of text.
