undergraduate experience has provided me with countless opportunities to engage in meaningful
discussions, particularly those that are seen as challenging or controversial. I have learned to
embrace discomfort and conflict, understanding that difficult conversations are necessary for
change. Before college, I often avoided conflicting conversations, but through my education, I
have come to see them as opportunities for learning, growth, and progression. Without
discomfort and disagreement, there can be no meaningful transformation in our society.
As I prepare to step into the next chapter of my life, I carry with me the knowledge,
skills, and values instilled in me by my education at St. Thomas. I am fortunate enough to have
received this foundation, especially as the future of sociology remains uncertain. Regardless of
Advocate, Changemaker, Facilitator.
Born and raised in Stillwater, Minnesota, I graduated from Stillwater Area High School in June 2021. After that, I spent 4 years at the University of St. Thomas and graduated in May 2025 with a BA in Sociology, and three minors in psychology, justice and peace studies, and American culture and difference studies.
St.Thomas strengthened me academically and shaped me into a well-rounded future professional prepared to enter the workforce with confidence. My undergraduate experience has given me countless opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions, particularly those seen as challenging or controversial. I have learned to facilitate conversations and embrace discomfort and conflict, understanding that difficult conversations are necessary for change.
I worked as an after-school Adventure Club aide for a year, and have been nannying for multiple families for 6 years. I would love to put my commitment and care for others into a career that allows me to do so. I am searching for a job that pushes me to make positive change by broadening my range of understanding and discovering opportunities for learning, growth, and progression.
