April 4-5, 2026
This Easter season, all are welcome and invited to hear messages of hope, peace, and the joy of eternal life made possible through the atoning sacrifice and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join with Latter-day Saints at meetinghouses around the world on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026, and Easter weekend, April 4–5, during the annual broadcast of general conference.
“General conference provides an opportunity to receive personal revelation as general Church leaders give counsel and direction from the Lord,” stated the First Presidency (letter to congregation leaders, March 6, 2026). “We encourage all to listen to, study, ponder, and apply the counsel given. The messages will be published in the Gospel Library app, on ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and in Church magazines for further viewing and study.”
General conference takes place two times a year (April and October) as a global gathering where members from around the world pause to learn from Church leaders about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The conference is streamed and broadcast live in over 80 languages, allowing people anywhere to access it in gatherings large and small, as well as in homes and family settings. Regular Sunday services in Church meetinghouses are not held on the weekends when general conference takes place.
The next global broadcast, which originates every six months from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, is on Easter weekend, Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5. It will consist of four unique 2-hour sessions over the two days. Following recent adjustments to the conference format, the April 2026 general conference will not feature a Saturday evening session:
Saturday, April 4
Morning session: 10 a.m. to noon*
Afternoon session: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, April 5
Morning session: 10 a.m. to noon
Afternoon session: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
*Times listed are Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)
A solemn assembly will take place during the Saturday morning session — an opportunity for Latter-day Saints to sustain a new Church President and First Presidency.
Solemn assemblies are special, sacred meetings held for a variety of holy purposes. They bring an elevated sense of spirituality into the meeting. Solemn assemblies have included the sustaining of a new Church president (as will be the case on the morning of April 4), the dedication of a temple, special commemorations, and other sacred purposes.
Some solemn assemblies (for example, in April 2020) have featured the Hosanna Shout, a symbolic act with New Testament roots. The April 4 solemn assembly will not include a Hosanna
Shout.

The first batch of new hymns and primary songs has been released in the Sacred Music App, and we will be incorporating this new music into our worship services. There are a few ways to access the Sacred Music app:
1. Download the Sacred Music app, which is separate from Gospel Library. You will see the 1985 hymnbook, the Children’s Songbook, and the new music, “Hymns—For Home and Church.”
2. Or, from the Gospel Library app, go to Music, then to “Hymns—For Home and Church.”
3. The new music is also accessed from a browser here: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/music?lang=eng
