Resource pantry

At the United Methodist Church in New Providence, NJ, we have set up a resource pantry for food, clothes, hygiene products, and more to be collected and distributed to town residents and to residents of other towns. Food is collected year-round, while clothes, hygiene products, toys, etc. are collected on an occasional basis at this point. This picture was taken during an event where we got involved with the congregation "Ministerio Palabras Con Proposito" and Amazon to unload and sort 5 palettes of various foods to be donated.

great big period products drive

Partnering with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and the New Providence High School's Community Service Club, the LINC program has begun accepting donations of maxi pads and liners to help end period poverty across New Jersey. Currently, there are two donation centers: one at New Providence High School's front entrance, and another at the United Methodist Church's back entrance. Donate today!

empty bowls project

With the students at New Providence High School, we've started working with Empty Bowls. The objective is to make ceramic bowls and glaze them beautifully, then sell them. In our case, we will be holding an "ice cream social," where people can buy a bowl and fill it with ice cream of their choice, combining donations with a tasty treat. The bowls will be made throughout April and May, and the event will take place in June 2022. All proceeds will go back into food bank programs in cities such as Newark, Camden, and Elizabeth.
