Hi! My name is Anthony Lin and I am a librarian at Irvine Valley College in Orange County. I have been at IVC for over eight years and am excited to meet students on their journey to the path of student success. Over the years, I have helped students find resources for their classes, life challenges, and future careers. When I see students a year later who transferred to a four year college, found the job of their dreams, or created their own job, it fills me with great joy that I played a small role in their success. My wish is that these @ONE classes will continue to help me to help my students to become even more successful.
I am a librarian because I enjoy helping and inspiring students to go after their dreams! Although my official role is to help locate print and electronic information, the bounds of information extend way beyond the library. All of us come from different walks of life with different paths that meet at an intersection. We can be mothers, veterans, caretakers, students, and daughters all at the same time. With so many roles, we can often become lost. One of my roles is to help students navigate through the different campus support options to guide them through many intersections, much like the GPS navigation on your phone. A journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step. Let’s take that first step together.
