Lily's Family Childcare and Preschool has been serving families of the East Bay Area since 1998. At Lily's, our mission is to provide educational experiences for infants up through transitional kindergarten. This is achieved through a play-based curriculum and utilizing Montessori methods, as well as a bilingual (English and Spanish) curriculum. We strive to develop the "whole child"- cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and academic development. Our goal is to raise well rounded citizens who celebrate all aspects of social diversity all while learning two languages!
At Lily's we believe that the development of the child's mind, body and character are important. We strive to provide a safe, caring, homelike atmosphere for your child. Children learn best in a developmentally appropriate, hands-on early childhood education program. Our daily program includes balanced instruction and a well-rounded curriculum, which provides an age-appropriate learning experience that develops readiness skills. The foundational subjects of Math, Language Arts, Science, Cultural Studies, Art, and Music are learned through the prepared environment where students receive quality personal and individualized care. The children will be taught intentional lessons in grace and courtesy; by modeling appropriate, respectful manners of self, others and our world, justice and integrity that are taught by example here at Lily's Family Childcare and Preschool. Our home childcare and preschool is designed to provide both a nurturing home atmosphere along with large dedicated areas for active exploration, learning, and growth.
Founder/Director
Welcome to Lily's Family Childcare and Preschool. My name is Laura Lidia Lopez. However, students refer to me by Lily. After having my first daughter, I realized that I would not be able to witness every learning moment and growth like I would have liked. Therefore, I went back to school to receive my degree in Early Childhood Education. After having my second daughter in 1997, I opened my preschool a year later. My three daughters went through my preschool and when they were ready for kindergarten they were able to write, read, and speak fluently in English and Spanish. My love for teaching grows more and more each year and am proud to be open for more than 20 years.
I respect and appreciate the trust you have placed in me to care for your child. As a parent, you are the most important person in your child's world and I will make every effort to support you as a family. We never try to be replacements for parents. I see my preschool as your partners in care.
