100% of the fabric I use is second-hand and upcycled; anything from tank tops to tabelcoths and I always try to use items that are no longer fit for there original purpose, be it from staining or damage. Large portions of fabric from these items can be given a new life and the sections that are too damaged can be washed and cut up for stuffing. The fabric is collected locally through word of mouth and also from jumble sales/table top sales where a lot of items are donated in poor condition. Things like zips and buttons are salvaged from garnments or bought second hand. Some aspects of the products do have to be bought new - see the about page for more info on what. As my business grows, I hope to begin working directly with sustainable manufacturers for these elements.
Not currently, but I am aiming to expand to online sales in the future.
The list is endless but ultimately I get a huge amount of fulfilment from creating something and having someone else enjoy it. For me, someone being willing to part with their money in exchange for one of my creations is the highest compliment I will ever receive.
