Standard One

At the foundation of a quality CTE program is a curriculum that reflects industry-validated technical standards, is aligned with academic content standards, and incorporates essential employability skills. The curriculum is designed with substantial input from employers and postsecondary institutions, ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and competencies required for both further education and in-demand careers. It promotes the authentic application of knowledge and skills, is publicly accessible, and is regularly reviewed and updated by stakeholders to reflect evolving industry demands.

Artifact 1

In this Unit plan using the STS Standards I created a unit plan that has 40 lessons over the semester. that follow those standards given for the following pathway. I used Industry standards to help students understand the industry needs and requirements. By Talking with local partners, I Integrated preferred and essential skills for students to learn for employment preferences. For Example, Kawasaki Manufacturing has donated equipment for student use, over the course of the unit I would use said equipment to teach those skills wanted by Kawasaki.

Artifact 2

My artifact is my End of Internship Presentation. This artifact demonstrates my readiness to implement CTE standards though real-life experiences. Specifically, this presentation illustrates that I taught High school welders based on Industry-validated technical standards. This internship also Allowed me to provide student application of integrated knowledge and skills in authentic scenarios by preparing students to weld on the floor at Kawasaki. Moving forward, I plan to apply these insights to my STS program by developing CTE lessons that integrate industry-relevant experiences and technical standards. By doing so, I aim to prepare students with both the technical knowledge and employ-ability skills they need to succeed in their careers, ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet the demands of the workforce.
