A sedimentary rock is a rock that is formed from the remains of different types of living things or by the weathering of pre-existing rocks. They form from accumulated layers of minerals and deposits that eventually cause cementation to whatever it has covered. These rocks are mostly known for containing different types of fossils such as water-type fossils like shells and coral, plant life, and mammals. Because of this, we are able to have documentation of the evolutionary advancement that has happened to organisms over all these years, whether it's plants, animals or insects.
