Privacy Policy – Likhit AI

1. Introduction

Likhit AI ("we," "our," "the app") converts photos of handwritten notes into clean,

editable digital text using artificial intelligence, and lets you export that text as

a Word document, PDF, or plain text file. This policy explains what data we collect,

why, and how you can control it.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Content you create

  - Photos of handwritten notes you capture or import, for the sole purpose of

    text extraction. Photos are sent securely to our AI processing service and are

    NOT stored on our servers after processing — only the extracted text is saved

    to your account.

  - The extracted and edited text of your notes, saved to your account so you can

    access your document history across sign-ins and devices.

2.2 Account information

  Depending on how you choose to sign in, we collect:

  - Anonymous guest mode: a random device-linked identifier only, no personal

    information. You can use most features this way with a limited free trial.

  - Sign in with Google: your Google account ID, display name, email address, and

    profile photo.

  - Phone number sign-in: your phone number, verified via a one-time SMS code.

  - Email sign-in: your email address, verified via a one-time secure sign-in link.

2.3 Purchase & credit data

  - Likhit AI uses a consumable credit system: you receive free AI credits to start

    and can purchase additional one-time credit packs through Google Play Billing.

  - We receive a purchase token and product ID from Google Play to verify and grant

    your purchase. We never see or store your payment card or bank details — those

    are handled entirely by Google Play.

  - Your current credit balance and purchase history are stored in our database,

    linked to your account.

2.4 Usage, diagnostics & device data

  - App usage events (e.g. scans started, exports completed) via Firebase Analytics,

    to help us understand which features are used and improve the app.

  - Crash reports and performance diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics, to help us

    find and fix bugs.

  - A device integrity signal (Google Play Integrity / Firebase App Check) used only

    to confirm requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app — this helps

    prevent abuse of free AI credits and keeps the service available for everyone.

  - A push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), if notifications are

    enabled, used to send you app-related notifications.

  - Advertising identifier (for free-tier users only — see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data above solely to:

  - Convert your handwritten photos into digital text and improve its readability

    and formatting via AI

  - Maintain your account, document history, and AI credit balance

  - Detect and prevent abuse of free trial credits (e.g. one free trial per device)

  - Verify and grant purchases made through Google Play

  - Send optional app notifications

  - Diagnose crashes and improve app performance and reliability

  - Show relevant advertisements to free-tier users (see Section 6)

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the content of your notes for

any purpose other than providing the app's features to you.

To provide app functionality, data is shared with the following service providers,

We do not share your data with any party for their own independent marketing

purposes. Photos processed by the Gemini API are not retained by Likhit AI or, to

our knowledge, used by Google to train models, beyond standard, time-limited abuse

monitoring as described in Google's own API terms.

5. In-App Purchases

Likhit AI offers optional, one-time consumable credit packs (not a recurring

subscription) that add AI credits to your account for scanning and enhancing notes.

  - All purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing.

  - We never collect or store your payment card or bank details.

  - Your credit balance is stored in our database, linked to your account, so it

    persists across sign-ins and reinstalls.

  - Purchases can be reviewed and refund requests made via Google Play →

    Payments & subscriptions.

6. Advertising

Free-tier users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob, including banner

ads, native ads (shown within document history), interstitial ads (shown

occasionally after completing an export), and rewarded ads (fully optional — you

choose to watch one in exchange for bonus AI credits).

AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to personalise ads. You can opt

out of personalised advertising at any time via your device settings

(Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation, or Settings → Privacy →

Ads on iOS/Android depending on device). See Google AdMob's Privacy Policy for

details on how Google processes this data.

7. Data Security

All data in transit between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

Data at rest is stored using Google Firebase/Firestore's default encryption and

access-control infrastructure. Access to your account data is restricted to your

own authenticated session — our security rules do not permit other users to read

or modify your data.

8. Your Rights & Control

  - Sign out at any time from Settings — this ends your local session on that

    device.

  - Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings →

    Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your documents, profile,

    credit balance, and all other account data from our systems and cannot be

    undone.

  - If you're unable to use in-app deletion for any reason, you can request

    deletion by emailing us at the address in Section 11.

  - You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.

9. Children's Privacy

Likhit AI is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect

personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us

with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

Our service providers (Google Firebase, Google Gemini API, Google AdMob, Google

Play Billing) may process and store data in locations outside your country of

residence, under Google's own data protection commitments.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app's features change. Material changes

will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date at the top.
