• Generates close to 9000kWh a day which is certainly enough for cooking and possibly a bit of air conditioning.

• Quite small but can't find anything larger

Tulip TP2400 with 420W solar from Tulip Power $2100 available in Cuba

• Unknown brand, with no reviews online, available from vendors inside Cuba

There is a good Facebook group for buying panels and batteries within Cuba but it is a lot of DIY kits

Our experience

We successfully sent a Pecron E2400LFP (2024kWh) with 600w of portable solar panels to Sancti Spiritus (July 2025)

• $US1300 + $US350 shipping with Crowley

• Order places with Shop Solar

• 2 weeks to deliver to Crowley

• 4 weeks for container to arrive in Havana

• 2 weeks for delivery to Sancti Spiritus

Shipping is difficult because you can't take them with you on flights

Only small batteries can go on a passenger aircraft. They must go by ship or cargo air freight. 

• The maximum size Lithium battery on a flight is 100Wh and must be taken in carry on (some airlines allow up to 160Wh with prior permission)

• Solar panels are bulky but you can take them in checked baggage

There are a few reliable couriers that do deliver to Cuba

From the USA you can ship with Crowley 

• $US1.89/lb plus $10/package

• Ships from Miami, FL

• At least six weeks from the time all items are received

• You can track the parcel within Cuba once it is unloaded from the container

From Canada you can ship with BoxToCuba

• $CAD4-6/lb

• Ships from Montreal and Toronto

• Many people swear they are incredibly helpful and reliable but I have not used their service
