Lightscape

This is “Lightscape”, a commissioned public art piece created in a pedestrian tunnel under Main Street at Boyd Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. 

Mural artists Lori Chilefone and Jyl Kelley enjoyed dreaming on, painting, and ultimately “lighting up” this 3-D public art experience for all who use this pedestrian trail.

This project was brought to our community through the fundraising efforts of Chad Rowekamp, Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association (ESHNA’s) president and community members plus a grant from Downtown Eau Claire Inc.(DECI) 

The mineral paints we used for this project are silica based without toxic ingredients or Volitile Organic Compounds (VOC's). 

We are so appreciative for our neighbors, friends, and family who contributed time, money, meals, lighting, and nearby supply storage. Big love to our 23 volunteer artists, who helped power wash, sweep, prime, paint and for their technical support (Bob Andruskiewicz + Nick Bubolz helped us navigate the use of a VR/AR headset). Thank you, all, for helping us make this place we call home, inviting, inclusive and fun.

Walk or roll on over and help us celebrate the completion of this mural installation at Boyd Park, Sunday, October 19th, 2025 at 3:30 pm. Natural amplification effects of the tunnel will highlight our neighbor and cellist, Tulio Rondon!
