After completing his B.S. at Texas Christian University (US), Brad joined the Developmental Motor Control Laboratory led by Dr. Jane Clark at the University of Maryland (US) where he completed both his Master’s and PhD. He completed postdoctoral fellowships in the laboratories of Dr. Julien Doyon at the University of Montreal (Canada) and Dr. Stephan Swinnen at the KU Leuven (Belgium). Brad started at the University of Utah in August 2020. Broadly, his research adopts the motor system as a model to investigate the neuroplasticity underlying learning and memory processes across the human lifespan.

Emily graduated with her bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Denver in 2024. During this time, she worked as a research assistant in the Social Perceptions and Attitudes Lab studying implicit biases in children. In the fall of 2024, she joined the Lifespan Motor Neuroscience Lab pursuing a master's in Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience. She will continue her work with children by examining the learning-related changes in resting state functional connectivity in children.
Owen earned his Bachelor’s in Neuroscience at Brigham Young University, where he worked as a research assistant utilizing Lesion Network Mapping to identify brain regions implicated in neurogenic stuttering. In 2024, he joined the University of Utah to pursue his PhD in the Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience track. His research focuses on the effects of exercise in older adults, examining its impact on GABA levels in motor and memory-related brain regions and associated changes in cognitive function. Owen is co-supervised by Dr. Genevieve Albouy, director of the Sleep and Motor Memory Lab.
Jet earned her B.S. in Health and Human Performance from Eastern Oregon University in 2022, and her M.S. in Kinesiology from Boise State University in 2025. For her master's thesis, she examined the relationship between a neural measure of reward processing (the RewP), depression, and lifestyle physical activity in older adults. Jet is joining the Lifespan Motor Neuroscience Lab in August 2025 and is interested in continuing to study age-related changes in cognitive and motor functioning among older adults.
