This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Become("the App", "we", "us") handles information. Become is a single-player life-simulation game. We have tried to collect as little data as possible.
By downloading or using Become, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Become has no user accounts and no login. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or address.
Your game progress is saved only on your own device. Your saved lives, characters and choices are never uploaded to us.
The App shows advertisements through Google AdMob, and uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played. Both are Google services and both collect some device information to work, as described below.
We do not run our own servers. Everything described here is handled by Google on our behalf
Information collected by the third-party services above is used to:
display and personalise advertisements and measure their performance (Google AdMob)
understand how the game is played in aggregate, so we can improve it (Google Analytics for Firebase)
We do not attempt to identify individual players, and we do not combine this information with anything else.
None. Become does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information.
Your saved games, settings, and in-app progress are stored locally on your device only. This data stays on your device and is removed if you delete the App.
Advertising — Google AdMob. Become displays ads using Google AdMob. To serve, personalise, and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process information such as:
your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID),
IP address (which gives an approximate location),
device and operating-system information,
and ad-interaction data (for example, which ads were shown).
We do not control this collection. It is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and Google's advertising practices: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Analytics — Google Analytics for Firebase. The App reports a small number of anonymous events so we can see how the game is actually played — for example that a life was started, what age a life ended at, which career was taken, and whether an optional rewarded advert was watched. Google may collect and process:
a randomly generated app instance identifier, which is not linked to you personally
your device model, operating-system version, language and approximate country
the App version, and how long a session lasted
your device's advertising identifier
We deliberately do not send any of the content of your game. No character names, no written messages, no exact amounts of in-game money. Amounts are reported only in broad bands.
We use this to answer questions such as which parts of the game are never opened, and where people stop playing, so we can improve it
We do not use any other analytics, tracking, advertising, purchase, or data-collection services.
Depending on your region, you may be shown personalised or non-personalised ads. Where required (for example in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the App presents a consent request before personalised ads are used, and you can change your choice.
You can also limit ad personalisation at any time through your device settings:
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation.
Become contains mature themes (including references to crime, relationships, illness, and death) and is not directed at children. The App is intended for a mature audience (rated accordingly on the app store). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App, you can reset the device's advertising ID as described above; because we store no personal data ourselves, there is nothing on our side to delete.
We do not run our own servers and we do not hold a copy of your personal data ourselves. Data handled by Google (AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase) is retained according to Google's own policies; analytics event data is retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated by Google.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing.
Because Become itself holds no personal data about you:
To manage or delete data associated with advertising, use your device advertising settings (Section 4) and see Google's Privacy Policy.
To remove all locally stored game data, delete/uninstall the App.
If you have questions about your rights, contact us using the details below.
Since Become does not transmit or store your personal data on our own servers, the main safeguards are those provided by Google's services and by your device. No method of electronic storage or transmission is ever 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
