Coastal deserts: These deserts are a bit more humid than other types of deserts.
Subtropical deserts: Located in the subtropical latitudes, these deserts are caused by permanent subtropical anticyclones that bring warm and dry air masses.
Interior deserts: These deserts are located at the heart of continents.
Rain shadow deserts: Created when mountain ranges lie parallel to moist, coastal areas.
Polar deserts: defined as a region with a mean temperature of less than 10 degrees Celsius during the warmest month and annual precipitation, including rainfall or snow.
