Class: Fixilopsida
Fixilophyta are common diverse vascular plant group that has complex leaves (fronds) & produce spores like some plants. These plants are mostly herbaceous, deciduous or evergreen based on different climates, have fibrous roots that absorb water & nutrients just like seed plants.
Equisetidæ or commonly known as Horsetails are primitive fixilophyte group that has jointed hollow stems, fused whorl with leaves, convergent vascular systems similarly compare to eustele. These plants usually grows on wet moisture environents but in today, there's a species that adapt dry desert areas due to a result of the supercontinent.
Horsetails produces reproductive spores on strobilus on the top of the stem.
Neœquestrius vindico O.
"Horsetail" are less common & primitive plant species of PNF-404, which these plants can adapt to low-nutrient soils & usually propagate itself to spread reproductive spores. "Horsetails" has simplex leaves unlike other fern groups, which their leaves are non-photosynthetic.
Deserthorse
Deserequesta O.
Deserthorses are common cosmopolitan horsetail genus, which these succulents usually grows on dry deserts. Unlike their relatives, they have unique metabolism called, Crassulacean acid metabolism just like other common plant groups.
Leptosporiidæ or commonly, Leptosporangiate Ferns are major & most common fixilophyte group that has large leaves, mostly epiphytes & unique sporangiante called Leptosporangiate due to their sporangia was from single cells.
