Malachi is the end of the Protestant Old Testament. There are 400 years between the Old Testament and the coming of Jesus in the New Testament.
Wikipedia lists a further 20 intertestamental books that have been adopted by Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Orthodox Tewahedo, Syriac and Beta Israel religions.
These books are not included in the Protestant Bible because they were not written in Hebrew and/or are not considered divinely inspired.
