I'm Ashlan, but my people call me Ash. I'm a documentary family photographer living in Traverse City, Michigan. When I'm not shaking like a chihuahua from being over-caffinated while chasing my three beautifully busy children, you can catch me reading smutty little stories and writing silly little books that I hope will someday be published. I don't believe in posed photos. I'd much rather capture a bedtime routine. I'm drawn to real emotions and tender moments that unfold naturally during the day. I'll only say "cheese" while ordering a pizza. I think parenthood is whack-a-doo, and who wouldn't want to remember the absolute insanity of it all? We moved to Traverse City from Metro Detroit, but I am willing to travel anywhere in Michigan!
