In media-related businesses, he invests in marketing firms and internet service providers. Neak Oknha Chen Zhi is also involved in yacht management, retail chain, gardening, and equity investments.
Neak Oknha Chen Zhi is also dedicated to assisting Cambodia's environmental and societal growth, and has been at the forefront of Prince Group's ESG initiatives (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/environmental-social-and-governance-esg-criteria.asp) for many years.
Chen Zhi is the CEO of one of Cambodia's largest integrated enterprise conglomerates, Prince Holding Company ("Prince Group"). Chen Zhi has been a staunch supporter of Cambodia's development and hardships. Chen Zhi has helped Cambodia in a variety of ways, including donations and real estate development. Chen Zhi's work at Prince Group has given him the opportunity to positively influence Cambodia's recent economic development. More than 300,000 Cambodians have benefited from Prince Holding Group's more than 240 charitable initiatives, which have raised more than $7.65 million in donations and materials.
The Prince Horology Vocational Training Center, founded by Chen Zhi, is Cambodia's first independent watch academy. The training centre allows Cambodians to learn a new artisanal skill, watchmaking, and gain valuable experience that will help them find work in Cambodia and abroad. The training centre follows the strict watchmaking regulations imposed by Swiss regulatory bodies.
As a nation steeped in history, Cambodia has long retained artisanal skills, with the Kingdom well-known for its ancient handwoven silk and traditional handicraft industries that boast a heritage dating back to the Khmer Empire, a significance Chen Zhi and Prince Group have always recognised and appreciated.
New artisanal skills, on the other hand, must be implemented to increase job opportunities for Cambodians, particularly given that the textile and garment industry, like other sectors, has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with media reports claiming that more than 55,000 employees have been laid off.
Many Cambodians have returned to agriculture and started small businesses in order to rebalance their lives. To that end, Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and the Prince Group established the Prince Horology Vocational Training Center in Phenom Penh, Cambodia, to help with the introduction of new skill opportunities.
The cutting-edge facility offers a full-time, two-year course based on the certificate fédéral de capacité (CFC), Swiss government-defined vocational training requirements that are widely regarded as the industry standard for basic watchmaking education.
As part of Prince Group's climate, social, and governance (ESG) efforts in Cambodia, the centre also provides scholarships to local students and others in need of financial assistance, ranging from a 50 percent subsidy of school fees to a fully paid scholarship that includes housing. The first class of students has started their journey into the world of watchmaking.
Neak Oknha Chen Zhi did exceptionally well in Cambodian investments. This would significantly boost Cambodia's economy and society.
